— Our Story —

Where It Started.

A show born in 1996. A legacy that never faded. A new chapter just beginning.

1996
Donald Baillargeon launches MoneyTV

A simple, radical idea: give everyday investors the same access to business intelligence Wall Street insiders took for granted. Donald didn’t chase the companies already on the front page — he found the ones flying under the radar, with CEOs who had real vision, and brought their stories into living rooms across the country.

2000s
A two-decade institution

MoneyTV grows into one of the longest-running financial programs on television — reaching more than 180 million households in over 75 countries, one weekly episode at a time.

2017
Episode 1,000

MoneyTV airs its 1,000th original episode and enters its 22nd year on television, still running on the same mission it launched with: find the real story, tell it straight, and trust the audience to be smarter than everyone gives them credit for.

Now
Episode 1252 — Coming Soon

Donald steps into the role of Creator and hands the mic to CJ Melone. Same standards, same appetite for the real story — the next episode drops soon.

— Who's Behind the Mic —

A founder who built something to last.
A host who ensures it will.

CJ Melone
Host

CJ Melone doesn’t come to this mic as a journalist. He comes as someone who’s been in the room — a lot of different rooms.

He’s launched tech companies from the ground up, navigated the capital markets, and built businesses across industries that most people only ever work in one of. He knows what it costs to scale a startup before it’s fundable. He knows what a term sheet looks like before the lawyers clean it up. And he knows the difference between a company that’s built to last and one that’s built to pitch.

At the C-suite level, he’s led public companies, run M&A transactions, and sat in the chair when the hard calls had to get made. He understands how the financial world actually works — not from the outside looking in, but from the inside, where the decisions get made before they become press releases. In entertainment, he’s worked alongside some of the biggest names and legacy brands in the business — not as a fan, but as a partner protecting real assets and making real decisions.

When CJ sits across from a CEO on this podcast, he’s not reading from a prep sheet. He already knows what the business looks like before it’s dressed up for investors. He knows where the soft spots are, what questions make executives uncomfortable, and — most importantly — what separates a company worth believing in from one that just sounds good in a press release.

Every battle I've been through in business was preparing me for this chair — I just didn't know it yet.

Donald Baillargeon
Creator

Donald was running corporate radio stations at 27. He personally owned and operated KCHT-FM in California and co-founded one of central California’s largest advertising agencies — building the instincts that made MoneyTV great, long before he launched it.

For more than 30 years, Donald was the face, voice, and engine of MoneyTV. His integrity was the show’s backbone. His curiosity was its engine. And in recent years, that same engine has been tested more than ever — an illness that left him a paraplegic and fundamentally changed the way he moves through the world.

But his body slowing down has done nothing to quiet his mind or his spirit. He channeled that journey into Zoo Animals, an unflinching account of resilience and identity — required reading for anyone who wants to understand the man behind the show. Great founders know when to hand off the torch — and watch it burn brighter.

"Find the real story. Tell it straight. Trust the audience to be smarter than everyone else gives them credit for."

How to read these numbers. Our digital reach figures are annualized from measured delivery: billboard impressions are projected from 82,463 reported impressions across 98 digital sign IDs, Aug 1–12, 2026 (VH2 Networks Campaign Summary), extended at the same daily pace; full-scale figures reflect available inventory, not current delivery. Watch hours, plays, session length, registered viewers, and geography are Google Analytics monthly data. Reported impressions are campaign-delivery estimates and do not represent unique people.
